The State Prosecutor has announced that, up to this moment, no person has been arrested for criminal offenses against voting rights, in the context of today\u2019s elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the official statement, around 100 prosecutors and members of the prosecutorial system have been and continue to be engaged throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, with the aim of ensuring the smooth conduct of the electoral process and the protection of citizens\u2019 free vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the day, the State Prosecutor received several reports regarding possible irregularities. After verification and handling of these reports, by the close of the voting process, it was found that only five cases contained elements of criminal offenses against voting rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first case was initiated in the village of Ranillug \u2013 Gjilan, for the criminal offense \u201cImpairment of free determination of voters,\u201d according to Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo. The suspect, by the prosecutor\u2019s decision, was released in regular procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second case was initiated in Zheg\u00ebr \u2013 Gjilan, for the criminal offenses \u201cObstruction of the voting process\u201d and \u201cViolation of the secrecy of the vote,\u201d according to Articles 214 and 215 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo. In this case as well, the suspect was released in regular procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third case was initiated in Prizren, for the criminal offense \u201cDestruction of voting documents,\u201d according to Article 217 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo, where the suspect was released by the prosecutor\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fourth case was initiated in Drenas, for the criminal offense \u201cViolation of the secrecy of the vote,\u201d while the fifth case was in Suharek\u00eb, for the same criminal offense. In both cases, the suspects were released in regular procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
State prosecutors will continue to be on duty during the vote counting process at polling stations, as well as during their transport to municipal counting centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
