{"id":78992,"date":"2025-12-28T07:39:24","date_gmt":"2025-12-28T07:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kosovapress.com\/eng\/admin\/?p=78992"},"modified":"2025-12-28T07:39:24","modified_gmt":"2025-12-28T07:39:24","slug":"radoniqi-exercises-his-right-to-vote-clarifies-the-assisted-voting-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kosovapress.com\/eng\/admin\/radoniqi-exercises-his-right-to-vote-clarifies-the-assisted-voting-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Radoniqi exercises his right to vote, clarifies the assisted voting process"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi, has just exercised his constitutional right to vote in the early parliamentary elections of December 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Radoniqi voted at the \u201cLidhja e Prizrenit\u201d Primary School and afterward called on citizens to go out and vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The head of the CEC said that despite the short timeframe, everything is ready for today\u2019s electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI should take this opportunity to invite the citizens of Kosovo to go out and exercise their right to vote in order to choose their representatives of Kosovo. On the part of the CEC, all preparations have been made despite the short time and the numerous preparations and challenges we had; we have managed to ensure that the process starts on time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also stated that yesterday\u2019s voting process of the diaspora in diplomatic missions went well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chairperson of the CEC, Kreshnik Radoniqi, also clarified the method of assisted voting and voting for those who cannot read or write.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor assisted voting, every person who needs assistance must present a relevant document proving that they are unable to vote on their own\u2026 As for persons who cannot read and write, there are no legal rules; this category was removed in 2023 as a category for assisted voting. As far as the CEC is concerned, we have a standard procedure for these persons as well. These individuals are not denied the right to vote; however, assistance for them cannot be provided behind the voting booth, and their assistance is provided only up to the ballot box,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the December 28 elections, the number of citizens with the right to vote at polling stations in Kosovo is 1,999,205, while the number of citizens registered to vote outside Kosovo is 77,085 voters. This list contains 7,192 more voters than in the local elections on October 12, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today\u2019s electoral process will take place in 948 polling centers with a total of 2,614 polling stations, of which 910 centers with 2,557 polling stations are for regular voting and 38 centers, one in each municipality, with 57 polling stations to enable conditional voting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On February 9 of this year, the citizens of Kosovo voted in the regular parliamentary elections, in which voter turnout was 46.54%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi, has just exercised his constitutional right to vote in the early parliamentary elections of December 28.
