President Vjosa Osmani has announced good news for Kosovo \u2013 its 121st recognition, coming from the North American country \u2013 the Bahamas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She stated that she had just signed a bilateral agreement on recognition and the establishment of diplomatic relations in the capital of the Bahamas with the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Philip Davis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both states also announced the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the Republic of Kosovo, effective from the date of signing the Joint Agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations, in accordance with international law and the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the statement says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both states reaffirm their commitment to the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, including respect for sovereignty, equality of states, and the peaceful settlement of disputes. They agree to develop their relationship based on mutual respect, reciprocity, and constructive engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bahamas and Kosovo express their intention to deepen cooperation in areas of common interest, including political consultations, trade and investment, tourism, education and culture, technology and innovation, public sector cooperation, as well as people-to-people exchanges, in accordance with the laws and procedures of each respective state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bahamas and Kosovo welcome the building of a warm and productive partnership, which serves the interests of both peoples and contributes to peace and international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
