The most recent meeting with the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG) marks a key step in finalizing the planning for this historic event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mayor of Prishtina added that the 2030 Mediterranean Games, which will be held in Prishtina, represent a major event that goes beyond local significance and offer a golden opportunity to showcase Kosovo to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou know we are working continuously to prepare for the 2030 Mediterranean Games, that is \u2018Prishtina 2030,\u2019 a truly monumental event not just for the capital, but for all of Kosovo, where we have the opportunity to show the entire world what wonderful hosts we are. For this reason, it is important that we prepare properly for these games,\u201d Rama emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, Rama spoke about the conclusions of the latest consultation work, detailing the number of different sports that will be included and the importance of cooperation with Albania for specific disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are discussing the possibilities of including various games; approximately 22 to 24 different sports will take place in the capital and other parts of Kosovo. We also know that for sailing, we have Durr\u00ebs included in the proposals for the Mediterranean Games in the capital in 2030. All these discussions, presentations, and decisions are part of the preparation for the 2030 Mediterranean Games,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mayor of Prishtina added that, although the initial phase of work was slower, the processes are now progressing rapidly, and he expressed full confidence that there will be no problems in preparing the event within the set timeframe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI would say that perhaps we had a somewhat slow process during the first two years, but now we have all fronts open, we are moving quickly, and I am very optimistic that we will not have any problems in preparing for the 2030 Mediterranean Games,\u201d Rama stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the Mayor discussed infrastructure plans, particularly the new stadium to be built as part of the Olympic Village. He emphasized that this stadium will meet the requirements to serve as the national stadium of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI can talk about the new Prishtina stadium, which is part of the master plan in the Olympic Village, and we are pushing this forward. Naturally, it could also serve as the national stadium because we have planned it with a capacity of 25,000 seats, and we are moving this forward. It is needed for the capital, and of course, it can be used as the national stadium if, let\u2019s say, the government agrees and decides to cooperate with us to move this process forward\u2026 If they decide that the national stadium should be elsewhere, that is also welcome, because the more we develop infrastructure capacity across Kosovo, the better it is for every citizen, every city, and our country,\u201d Rama concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
