The Constitutive Session of the Municipal Assembly was held at the House of Culture in Obiliq. During this session, the oath was taken by the mayor and 21 other municipal members. The new mayor of Obiliq, Halil Tha\u00e7i, promised fair, clean, transparent, and accountable governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After taking the oath as mayor, he honored the martyrs and families of the Obiliq Municipality, stating that the struggle of the Kosovo Liberation Army (U\u00c7K) will remain the greatest value of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tha\u00e7i thanked the former mayors of Obiliq, saying that each of them faced challenges and achieved successes during their terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis result belongs to the people, not to an individual. Thanks to all the former mayors of the Obiliq Municipality for their contributions over the years. Each has faced challenges and achieved successes in their time. Today, I start not with denial but with respect for those who built this municipality. In a new state like Kosovo, where the sacrifices of the people for the liberation of the homeland are great and memories are still fresh, and where many wounds remain open, politics must not be a privilege; politics is a responsibility. It is not a position that closes after us, but a window that must be opened for everyone. This is the governance we aim for: fair, clean, transparent, and accountable. We will work for Obiliq and for everyone, for a municipality that belongs to its citizens, serving them without distinction, without privilege, but with equal rights for all,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also promised economic development and investments in education and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI will listen to the citizens, farmers, small businesses, youth, teachers, and workers. Your voice will be my guide. We have a lot of work ahead, but we have strong will, energy, and a clear vision. Obiliq with economic development, clean air, investments in education, infrastructure, and modern healthcare. Today, I do not promise miracles, but I promise work and only work. I promise justice and only justice; I promise integrity. I promise that in this municipality, no one will be untouchable\u2014the law and the interests of the citizens will be the only untouchable,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Constitutive Session was led by the eldest member, Enver Gashi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
