{"id":78019,"date":"2025-11-11T09:37:57","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T09:37:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kosovapress.com\/eng\/admin\/?p=78019"},"modified":"2025-11-11T09:37:57","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T09:37:57","slug":"prices-are-soaring-these-products-have-recently-become-more-expensive-in-kosovo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kosovapress.com\/eng\/admin\/prices-are-soaring-these-products-have-recently-become-more-expensive-in-kosovo\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cPrices are soaring\u201d \u2013 these products have recently become more expensive in Kosovo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Prices of essential goods such as bread, milk, cheese, oil, eggs, and other food items in Kosovo continue to rise, alongside electricity, which has increased by over 20% for citizens, KosovaPress reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK), in October alone, consumer prices rose on average by 5.1% compared to the same period last year, mainly due to increases in food and electricity prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to electricity, solid fuels such as firewood and pellets also rose by 8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is primarily explained by the rise in consumer prices during this period in the COICOP groups and subgroups: organized holidays (23.7%), flight tickets (21.0%), electricity (20.3%), fruits (15.3%), coffee, tea and cocoa (13.1%), maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment (12.4%), other services related to personal transport equipment (12.4%), meat (12.3%), hotel services (9.0%), outpatient services (8.9%), therapeutic equipment (8.4%), solid fuels, firewood, pellets, etc. (8.0%), milk, cheese, and eggs (7.5%), oils and fats (6.2%), household maintenance goods and services (5.7%), tobacco (5.6%), bread and cereals (5.3%), food products (5.2%),\u201d the latest ASK report states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this period (October 2025 vs. October 2024), price decreases were observed in COICOP groups such as fuels and lubricants for personal transport (-2.6%) and vehicle purchases (-1.2%), with a combined impact of -0.2% on the Consumer Price Index (CPI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monthly inflation was 0.6% in October 2025 compared to September 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe overall harmonized consumer price index was higher by an average of 0.6% in October 2025 compared to September 2025. This was mainly explained by increases in consumer prices in COICOP groups and subgroups: solid fuels, firewood, pellets, etc. (8.4%), electricity (3.3%), vegetables (2.2%), tobacco (2.2%), bread and cereals (1.2%), hotel services (0.9%), meat (0.7%), and fuels and lubricants for personal transport (0.6%), with a combined impact of 0.7% on the CPI,\u201d the report states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Price decreases were observed in COICOP groups such as flight tickets (-6.8%) and plants (-3.8%), with a combined impact of 0.1% on the CPI.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prices of essential goods such as bread, milk, cheese, oil, eggs, and other food items in Kosovo continue to rise, alongside electricity, which has increased by over 20% for citizens, KosovaPress reports.
