According to her, the head of the polling station did not allow her because she did not have documents proving that her parents required assistance, nor did she have a doctor present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her parents had signed and also had their fingerprints taken, but they did not vote, and their votes were invalidated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the head of the polling station said that after a discussion with the citizen, the parents voted without the need for her assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The citizen, who did not want to disclose her name, said this was the third time this problem had occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She stated that neither she nor her parents were able to vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also requested that doctors be present at the polling station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey did not let me vote because they said without a doctor\u2019s permission, and I did not have the doctor\u2019s documents with me. This is the third time the same procedure has happened. I only wanted to accompany them to the ballot box; I did not need to vote for them\u2014they know who they are voting for. Where am I supposed to vote now? I have to take them back home; I cannot vote for them. I asked the CEC, and they said without a doctor\u2019s document, why don\u2019t you bring a doctor here? They already put their fingerprints\u2026 why weren\u2019t doctors here?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the head of the polling station, who was not allowed to speak to the media by the Central Election Commission, told reporters off-camera that the elderly parents voted without requiring the citizen\u2019s assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that everything would be verified at the CEC with full names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWithout documents, it cannot be done. They later voted properly on their own. This problem also occurred during the first parliamentary elections. All documentation is recorded; I will make a report, the voter list exists. A staff member helped them sign and held their hand\u2026 everything can be verified at the CEC with full names,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The citizen also expressed her concern to the mayoral candidate from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the current mayor, Ardian Gjini, but he told her that this issue is not under his authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere\u2019s nothing I can do, I am voting now\u2026 I cannot do these lists,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Otherwise, in Gjakova, 121,821 citizens have the right to vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
