The new nominee of the Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement, Glauk Konjufca, has declared that he will not seek a coalition agreement with political parties, but will focus on forming a new government to avoid December elections and to vote on the 2026 budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Konjufca said this after a meeting of the Vet\u00ebvendosje General Council, where he was proposed as the party\u2019s second nominee for forming a government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I think this will not be a process in which we will seek any coalition agreement with political parties. The idea has simply been to form a new government to avoid two very important things. First, immediate elections, and second, to try to cooperate with parliamentary political parties in order for Kosovo to have its budget for 2026. If these two do not happen, it is not in the interest of Kosovo, and precisely for this reason LVV proposed me as nominee today. I accepted, and all that remains is to see now the action of the president,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While stating that his name as the second nominee is expected to be sent to President Vjosa Osmani at any moment, Konjufca believes that there will be positive cooperation with other parties in order to avoid December elections and to vote on the 2026 budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I think this is expected not only by the Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement but by the majority of Kosovo citizens. If this is not avoided, then Kosovo could have five elections within a year. Indeed, it is very exhausting for the citizens of Kosovo, and the cost is around 40 million euros, which will have to be paid from your pockets. I believe that opposition forces will reflect and we will have positive cooperation in this direction so that these two things I explained happen: first, avoiding December elections, and second, the voting of Kosovo\u2019s budget,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Vet\u00ebvendosje nominee for prime minister, Konjufca, invited other parties to come to their senses, emphasizing that he will seek cooperation, not a long-term governing coalition, from former opposition parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“All of these are urgent issues, and in the international plan, there is the EU\u2019s growth plan. Kosovo risks losing hundreds of millions of euros, and for this, I will seek cooperation from opposition parties, but not for a long-term government coalition, only simply to come to their senses so that these things pass. Now the opposition parties can do whatever they want,” said Konjufca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At today\u2019s meeting of the General Council, the Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement proposed Glauk Konjufca as the party\u2019s second nominee for forming a government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proposal was made by LVV leader Albin Kurti, who said this is being done to avoid two rounds of elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
