Today, a protest will be held in the Albanian capital in support of former KLA leaders currently in The Hague, while some media outlets have linked Osmani\u2019s visit to the protest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two days ago, Osmani stated that she supports the protest in Tirana, in defense of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI support this protest and have supported every protest that calls for justice. The citizens of Kosovo and Albanians everywhere have never asked for anything other than justice\u2014justice that respects the highest principles of human rights protection. Kosovo, and more specifically the leaders currently facing trial in The Hague precisely because they trusted justice, have appeared before it. It has now been five years, without any doubt in international justice, but we as Kosovo\u2019s institutions continuously call for the highest principles of human rights and freedoms to be respected, and I fully support our citizens and back them whenever they protest to demand adherence to these standards,\u201d she said.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Another protest was held in The Hague on September 14, one day before the hearing of the first defense witness, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James Rubin. The protest took place near the Special Court building, with around 10,000 Albanians from around the world participating. Additionally, on August 7 in Prishtina, the Kosovo Liberation Army Veterans Organization (OVL-KLA) organized a protest against what they consider the injustice being carried out by the Special Court in The Hague, gathering former fighters and other citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The protest in Tirana is organized by the Kosovo Liberation Army Veterans Organization (OVL-KLA). Yesterday, during a press conference, they announced that over 60 buses will depart from Kosovo.
