The newly appointed German ambassador to Prishtina, Ranier Rudolph, has expressed optimism that Kosovo will very soon form its new government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the reception marking the \u201cDay of German Unity,\u201d the German diplomat emphasized that his country is and will remain a strong friend and partner of Kosovo, reports KosovaPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHere in Kosovo, I am optimistic that very soon there will be a government, which will be fully mandated as a partner with whom our government can cooperate,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The German diplomat reiterated the support for Kosovo\u2019s European ambition as well as its international integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGermany is and remains a strong friend and partner. We are proud to have supported Kosovo\u2019s journey long before its independence and we will continue to do so. Our government, which took office in May, confirmed our long-standing support for the Western Balkans as one of the main priorities of our foreign policy. Even in our parliament, the Bundestag, support and friendship with Kosovo are deep and across all democratic parties, as I have experienced in many conversations in recent weeks in Berlin\u2026 Kosovo is part of Europe. I want to support Kosovo\u2019s European ambitions and its international integration. The EU enlargement process is a personal priority for Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul. For each of us in Europe, the first step towards European integration is strengthening relations and regional cooperation with our respective neighbors,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Vjosa Osmani said that Germany\u2019s support has been decisive for Kosovo\u2019s freedom and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA partner in our freedom and independence, a partner in our democratic consolidation, and one of the strongest defenders of our Euro-Atlantic integration. At every stage of our journey, from reconstruction to institution-building, the support of the German people has been decisive in shaping the Kosovo we know today. A thriving democracy, determined to contribute to peace and prosperity in Europe, always by your side, 100 percent aligned with the common foreign and security policy of the European Union. So, here is one argument for you, Mr. Ambassador. We are particularly proud of Kosovo\u2019s very vibrant diaspora in Germany, one of the largest and most dynamic in Europe,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
