It is very important that, for the first time, Kllokot will have an Albanian mayor who will work solely for development, unification, unity, and security for all… I have received strong support from both the Albanian and Serb communities who are dissatisfied with the Serbian List and Belgrade’s influence. I believe there will be many voters from the Serb community who openly support me to be mayor of Kllokot Municipality, as their representative as well, not only for the Albanian community. Although I am supported by Albanian political parties, I will also be the mayor for the Serb community members who have expressed willingness to support and vote for me in the October 12 elections,” he said.

Emini says that his decision to enter the race for mayor of Kllokot Municipality came as a result of the need to end the Serbian List’s governance in this municipality.

He says that under the leadership of this political force, Kllokot has been isolated from investments and left behind in development.

“Since 2009, and especially from 2014, the Serbian List has taken power, and every administration has discriminated against both the Albanian and Serb communities. Belgrade’s influence on the Serbian List has affected the lives of citizens in Kllokot; they have been isolated from every investment and development in daily life. That is why I decided, seeing the engagement of citizens in Kllokot, to represent them with dignity, I took the initiative, ran as an independent candidate, and received the support of all Albanian political parties. I believe this is a good decision for both the Albanian and Serb communities so that Kllokot can finally be led with dignity and developed,” Emini declared.

The independent candidate for mayor of Kllokot Municipality, Arbër Emini, who enjoys the support of all Albanian parties, declares that he has continuously faced Serbian propaganda during the campaign.

However, he expresses confidence that the citizens of Kllokot will not be influenced by this propaganda.

Emini expresses certainty that he will win the race for the municipality’s leadership on October 12.

“I have faced Serbian propaganda and continue to confront it today. The goal of Serbian propaganda has been to influence public opinion, to make citizens doubt and divert votes away from the Albanian candidate toward Serb candidates. This propaganda has been carried out in the harshest way possible, even fabricating various self-recordings. I believe citizens have not fallen for this propaganda and will not, and I will fight it with the support of both Serb and Albanian voters… I do not feel threatened because I have thousands of Albanian and Serb citizens supporting me and know that this propaganda will not affect the election results. I believe in a strong victory in the first round… Do not fall for Serbian propaganda, work until the last day of the elections, vote massively, including from the diaspora. I call on citizens to come vote to remove the Serbian List and Belgrade’s influence in Kllokot and to develop Kllokot together,” he emphasized.

If he wins the race for mayor of Kllokot Municipality, Arbër Emini says his first action will be to put the municipal building into use, which has so far not been utilized by previous administrations.

“The first decision will be that the municipal building of Kllokot, which contains the symbols of the Republic of Kosovo, will be fully operational from day one as mayor. This building has so far been boycotted by some Albanians and the Serbian List because it contains state symbols. It is the official municipal building of Kllokot and will be used from the first day as the mayor of Kllokot Municipality,” he said.

Economic development, infrastructure, central heating, one school, and two Albanian-language kindergartens are some of the main promises Arbër Emini aims to achieve in his first term.

“Kllokot is a small municipality, and every investment coming from the Kosovo government or foreign donors has been blocked by the local authorities, under the influence of the Serbian List and Belgrade… The main goal is economic development, infrastructure development. Projects include the first to be implemented in Kllokot: central heating from thermal waters… Albanian school, infrastructure also for the Serb community and locals, since both communities have been discriminated against by the Serbian List. I believe this barrier will be broken, Serb support will be strong from the Kosovo Government… The main benefit will be equality with the Serb community. Albanians in Kllokot do not have a school or kindergarten and are forced to send their children to other municipalities. I believe during my first term, the main first step will be creating and building an Albanian school from grades 1 to 8 and two kindergartens: one in Kllokot and one in the village of Mogill,” Emini declared.

The independent candidate for mayor of Kllokot Municipality, Arbër Emini, will run in the local elections on October 12 with candidate number 150.

Since its establishment in 2009, Kllokot Municipality has continuously been led by representatives of the Serb community.

The independent candidate for mayor of Kllokot Municipality, Arbër Emini, who has the support of all Albanian parties, aims to end the dominance of the Serbian List and Belgrade’s influence in this municipality through an inclusive alternative for both Albanians and Serbs.
