The acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has commented on the latest World Bank report regarding the slowdown of economic growth in the Western Balkans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to this report, economic growth in the Western Balkans is expected to decline from 3.6 percent in 2024 to 3 percent this year, with Kosovo projected to experience the sharpest drop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his visit to the \u201cKosova B\u201d Power Plant, Kurti addressed the report, stating that \u201cKosovo, in the second quarter of this year, recorded an economic growth of 4.58 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are doing everything we know and can to support the private sector, as well as public enterprises, and to help citizens with financial assistance in order to boost aggregate demand. We are also supporting Kosovo\u2019s exports and, as you can see here, the generation of electricity \u2014 with investments increasing both capacity and security, as well as sustainability. The good news is that Kosovo, in the second quarter of this year, recorded an economic growth of 4.58 percent of GDP. And don\u2019t forget that, for many indices \u2014 both democratic and economic \u2014 Kosovo is leading the Western Balkans. I believe this will continue,\u201d said Kurti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, also stated that \u201cthe figures show there is no reason for concern,\u201d adding that in the past four years, the average economic growth rate has been 6 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn the past four years, the average economic growth has been 6 percent, never falling below 4 percent. In the second quarter of this year, it is 4.58 percent. So once again, we are not dropping below 4 percent \u2014 we\u2019ll see how the report for the third quarter turns out. But so far, things are good. International reports prepare us even more, but of course, for now, the figures show there is no reason for concern,\u201d the acting Prime Minister added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
