Acting Prime Minister and leader of the Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, told KosovaPress that as soon as the Kosovo Assembly is constituted, they will elect the new government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked about the possibility of forming a temporary government, a proposal made by his coalition partner, the leader of the Alternative party, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, Kurti expressed confidence in the formation of the new government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kosovo has not yet established new institutions more than eight months after the parliamentary elections on February 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vet\u00ebvendosje emerged as the leading party in the elections, but together with its partners and seven deputies from non-majority communities, they demonstrated in several attempts to elect the Assembly Speaker that they have only 57 deputies. This was also confirmed recently by MP Mimoza Kusari-Lila of the LVV Parliamentary Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Kurti said that he continues to serve as acting prime minister, even though his full four-year term has ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the Kurti I government was \u201cless than necessary,\u201d alluding to his removal from the executive in 2020, while saying that the Kurti II government continues \u201cmore than necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized that the Kurti III government will be, as he said, \u201cjust right.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are the acting government; as soon as the Assembly begins its work, we will elect the new government. I am in the seventh month of the fifth year of the full four-year term, so it is more than necessary. The first time it was less than necessary, and the third time it will be just right,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kosovo Assembly deputies are awaiting the publication of the full ruling of the Constitutional Court regarding the constitutive session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On September 30, the Constitutional Court issued a statement saying that the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly, which began on April 15, has not concluded because the deputy speaker from the Serbian community has not been elected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Constitutional Court\u2019s decision followed a complaint from the Serbian List, the largest Serbian party in Kosovo, regarding the separate voting of candidates for deputy speakers from non-majority communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
