This significant transformation ensures that a bus is available every 7 minutes to transport citizens to their destinations.

These details were shared at a press conference by the Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, who said this was made possible thanks to three years of work on urban public transport reform.

According to him, the bus fleet increased from 51 buses to 172.

“The expansion of the public transport network now brings routes to Pristina neighborhoods that previously had no buses. This is one of the key points: areas of the capital such as Taslixhe, Velania, Bledi, Arbëria, Sofalia, the Qendresa Nic neighborhood, Veternik, and Zllatari—all of these will now have bus services. Also, with this transformation, we are connecting all the villages in the capital: the village of Marec, Vitia e Mareci, Sicceva, Kolovica, Dyzi, Zllashi, Ballabani, Nisheci, Gllogovica, Llabjani, Busia, Slivova, Llajshevci, Shkabaj, Drenoci, Prugoci—so all of these are now linked to the capital. These are transformations in the capital covering over 30 different routes and 172 buses. As you know, we signed contracts with the private sector: the 51 buses previously operated by the urban transport now have 121 additional buses, and we have a unified system with an all-day ticket,” he said.

Also today, the “Pristina Digital Wallet” application was launched, through which citizens can purchase public transport tickets.

All citizens who download this app now will get their first month of tickets for free.

“The digital wallet is an innovation where today… citizens who download this application get one month of tickets for free. I encourage citizens who use urban transport to download it, as they will have one month free in the capital,” he said.

The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, while inspecting one of the new bus stops in the capital, emphasized that the bus frequencies are now reliable and fast.“We will have new buses, and the frequency will be such that every 7 minutes there will be buses picking up passengers and taking them to their destinations. As you have seen, throughout the capital we now also have special bus lanes, with horizontal and vertical markings. We are in the process of asking citizens driving cars to respect the lanes reserved for buses,” emphasized the Mayor of Pristina.

From today, public transport in Pristina has entered a new phase of development with the expansion of the urban bus network to neighborhoods and villages that previously did not have access to buses.
