\u201cThis is a significant moment for Kosovo, reflecting the country\u2019s ongoing progress in strengthening institutional resilience, macroeconomic stability, financial governance, and the rule of law. The decision also stems from strong interinstitutional coordination with the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers, and from CBK\u2019s continuous engagement with international partners. In particular, the issue was prominently addressed during the 2025 IMF\u2013World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC, where the need for a more accurate reflection of the Republic of Kosovo\u2019s institutional maturity was extensively argued\u201d, the CBK statement reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It further states that in this context, the Governor of the CBK and the delegation held direct meetings with several senior officials from the World Bank and the IMF \u2014 from the relevant FCS department to the highest leadership levels of the World Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of the main expected benefits for Kosovo following its removal from the FCS list include: Improved international perception of the country\u2019s institutional and economic stability; Increased investor confidence and reduced financial risk assessments; More favorable conditions for development financing and access to private capital; and Complementarity with Kosovo\u2019s first sovereign credit rating, which confirms the country\u2019s positive trajectory in governance and economic fundamentals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
