Post of Kosovo launched its newest postage stamp series today, dedicated to four of the country\u2019s most unique natural monuments: Kusari Cave, “Gryka e Madhe” Cave, Hoxha\u2019s Cave, and Dema\u2019s Cave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the announcement, this stamp issue presents a rich visual journey through the underground treasures of our country\u2014rare testimonies of our geology, archaeology, biodiversity, and ancient history. Through these stamps, the public is given the opportunity to discover the extraordinary natural and cultural values that Kosovo offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kusari Cave, located near the ancient village of Kusar in the Gjakova region, is part of the karst landscape of Mount Pashtrik. Formed in limestone rocks with a history spanning thousands of years, the cave bears traces of early human habitation and offers a unique setting for researchers and visitors alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Gryka e Madhe” Cave, situated at the eighth kilometer of the Rugova Gorge, 60 meters above the bed of the Peja River (Lumbardh), offers a striking view reminiscent of a natural temple. Inside, it features stunning stalactites and stalagmites, underground rivers and lakes, making it one of the largest caves in Kosovo and the region in terms of speleological and touristic value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hoxha\u2019s Cave, located above the village of Vrell\u00eb in Istog, within the Mokna mountain massif, represents an important archaeological site. It has been inhabited from prehistory to modern times. Its interior preserves ceramic fragments, worked stones, and an internal lake formed by the continuous dripping of stalactites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dema\u2019s Cave, found at the entrance of Rugova Gorge near the Patriarchate of Peja, is known for its historical and biological significance. As an archaeological site, it symbolizes the enduring connection between humans and nature, preserving traces of human resilience through the centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
