KosovaPress <\/a>writes.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIn the parliamentary elections on February 9, LVV came first with 42.30% of the votes, meaning they will have 48 deputies in the Assembly. Meanwhile, the Social Democratic Initiative secured three seats in the legislature, running in a pre-election coalition with Ramush Haradinaj\u2019s AAK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on these results, PDK won 24 seats, LDK 20 seats, and AAK 5 seats in the Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Serbs are also allocated ten seats in the Kosovo Assembly. According to the results, Serbian politician and current minister in the Kurti 2 government, Nenad Rashiq, won one seat, while 9 seats will go to the Serbian List \u2013 the largest Serbian party in Kosovo, which is funded by Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Political scientist Albinot Maloku argues that these election results necessitate LVV forming a government coalition with another Albanian party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He sees a coalition between LVV and Nisma as the most likely outcome but does not exclude the possibility of what he calls “smuggling deputies.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maloku warns that if this happens, the next executive will be considered a “government of smugglers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“[The Vetevendosje Movement] cannot form a government on its own, so their declarations that they can form a government are only in terms of the possibilities allowed by the first place, but they are not succeeding in doing it. If they hadn’t hesitated, they would have tried to recognize the reality of the numbers and form a coalition partner. The rest is that if Albin Kurti tries to form the government by smuggling deputies, then the next government will be one of smugglers, who are not needed by Kosovo,”<\/em>\u00a0 he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\nOn the other hand, political analyst Magbule Shkodra tells KosovaPress that if the Social Democratic Initiative takes its share in the government, it will vote in favor of the Kurti III government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She does not exclude the possibility of deputies from the opposition camp joining LVV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“If [Nisma]\u00a0takes responsibility in the government, then I believe it will vote for the Kurti government. The past has shown us that there have been cases where deputies have changed parties specifically during the constituent session. This can happen, and maybe Mr. Kurti is counting on that. However, there is a chance that if Nisma is offered the responsibilities they should have, they will vote for LVV and we will have a government,”\u00a0<\/em> she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe Constituent Session of the Kosovo Assembly will be held on April 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
