He made these comments after meeting the Prime\nMinister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, in Brussels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that NATO is ready to carry out its\nmandate in Kosovo to guarantee stability, just like in Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his speech, Stoltenberg thanked Montenegro\nfor its contribution to curbing Russian aggression, as he added that Montenegro\nplays an important role in the Western Balkans, a region of strategic\nimportance for NATO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that the outbreak of violence in Kosovo\nlast year is unacceptable, where as a result of tensions, NATO had sent 1000\nadditional troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has warned that next week, the North\nAtlantic Council, the highest political body of the alliance, will visit Bosnia\nand Herzegovina, in order to prove in this way, the unreserved support for the\nterritorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stoltenberg also thanked the Montenegrin prime\nminister for Montenegro’s support to Ukraine in its fight against Russia. He\nsaid that Kiev should be helped even further, because according to him, if\nPutin wins in Ukraine, there is a risk that he will use force again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, the Prime Minister of\nMontenegro, Millojko Spajic, pledged that his country will play a constructive\nrole for the peace and stability of the region. He added that with the head of\nNATO they talked about defense issues, support to Ukraine, adding that now is\nthe time to welcome Sweden as a new member of the alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked by journalists about the security\nsituation in the region after the recent events in Kosovo and Bosnia and\nHerzegovina, Stoltenberg said that the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is the only way\nforward to find a stable solution between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Spajic said that the situation in\nKosovo has calmed down recently, but that according to him, the Montenegrin\nstate is ready to help maintain peace, since according to him, it is in the\ninterest of Montenegro to maintain peace in Kosovo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
