For this case, the police initiated disciplinary measures against negligent police officers, whereas the commander of the traffic unit in Prizren and the police officer for traffic safety on the highways were removed from their positions.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Traffic safety, the police are expected to tighten the measures\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZOnlhqrinXM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This was announced on Wednesday at the joint press\nconference of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sve\u00e7la, and the director\nof the police, Gazmend Hoxha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Sve\u00e7la said that the police had twice\nprevented the organization of illegal speed races, whereas the people who\ncaused the accident had successive fines from the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He announced that 104 citizens lost their lives\nin traffic accidents this year alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Sve\u00e7la said that legal changes are\nbeing made for road traffic rules, where there will be a tightening of measures\nagainst traffic rule violators, a doubling of the value of monetary fines, a\ndoubling of the time limits for the confiscation of drivers&#8217; licenses and of\nnegative points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, the director of the Kosova\nPolice, Gazmend Hoxha, said that after the recent cases of fatal accidents, all\npolice units have been mobilized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that until now they have prevented 50\nillegal vehicle races and have imposed 193 fines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that during this year there is a 7.58\npercent increase in accidents in total, while he mentioned the reasons why the\nsame are happening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kosova Police is expected to toughen the measures against the violators of traffic violators, after the loss of the lives of three young people on the &#8220;Ibrahim Rugova&#8221; highway, as a result of the organization of illegal speed races.
