{"id":55249,"date":"2022-11-30T14:08:58","date_gmt":"2022-11-30T14:08:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kosovapress.com\/eng\/?p=55249"},"modified":"2022-11-30T14:08:59","modified_gmt":"2022-11-30T14:08:59","slug":"the-eu-and-sweden-donate-forest-protection-equipment-to-kosovo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kosovapress.com\/eng\/admin\/the-eu-and-sweden-donate-forest-protection-equipment-to-kosovo\/","title":{"rendered":"The EU and Sweden donate forest protection equipment to Kosovo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>To support the fight against illegal logging in Kosovo, the FAO forestry program, co-financed by the EU and Sweden, deonated various field equipment to the Kosovo Forestry Agency.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Six pick-up vehicles with built-in cameras\nand GPS devices for forest inspections, GPS devices for field data collection,\ntrap cameras and night binoculars for detecting illegal forest activities were\nhanded over to the Agency in a ceremony organized at the hunting lodge with\nspecial importance &#8220;Blinaja&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the press release it is announced that\nin his speech at this ceremony, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural\nDevelopment, Faton Peci, thanked the EU Office in Kosovo, the Swedish Embassy\nin Pristina and FAO for the Agency&#8217;s support Forestry of Kosovo in addressing\ndeficiencies in human and technical capacities to combat illegal activities in\nforests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ambassador of Sweden in Kosovo, Jonas\nWesterlund, has said that the protection of the environment, including the\nmanagement and protection of natural resources, should be the highest priority\nof the Government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To support the fight against illegal logging in Kosovo, the FAO forestry program, co-financed by the EU and Sweden, deonated various field equipment to the Kosovo Forestry Agency.
