The Association is\nrepresented, separately, by its President, Aimilios Perdikaris (Director\nGeneral of the Greek news agency ANA-MPA), and its Secretary General, Kiril\nValchev (Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency BTA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ABNA’s Management\nBoard is registered as consisting of Aimilios Perdikaris, Sk\u00ebnder Krasniqi\n(KosovaPress News Agency), and Serdar Karagoz (Director General of Turkey’s\nAnadolu Agency).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the 30th ABNA-SE\nGeneral Assembly in Burgas (on the Black Sea) on September 19, Bulgaria was\nselected to host the Association, and Valchev was elected Secretary General for\na three-year term. The resolution was adopted unanimously by representatives of\nnews agencies from 11 countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The forum also adopted\na Statute of ABNA, which follows the principles enshrined in the Statute of the\nEuropean Association of News Agencies (EANA). The 31st General Assembly will\ntake place in Thessaloniki, Greece, in the spring of 2023, and Turkey will take\nover in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The idea to set up an\nassociation of Balkan news agencies emerged at a meeting of their\nrepresentatives in Sofia in September 1994. The constituent first General\nAssembly of ABNA was held in Thessaloniki in June 1995. The organization seeks\nto facilitate the pursuit of cooperation among news agencies in the region and\ncontribute to the establishment of a climate of peace, friendship and\ncooperation in the Balkans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the years, the\nwork of ABNA-SE has included Albania’s ATA, Bosnia’s FENA, Republika Srpska’s\nSRNA, Bulgaria’s BTA, Greece’s ANA-MPA, Cyprus’s CNA, Kosovo’s KosovaPress, North\nMacedonia’s MIA, Romania’s Agerpress, Serbia’s TANJUG, Turkey’s Anadolu Agency,\nand Croatia’s HINA. \/BTA\/<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
