The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was received in a meeting by the National Security Advisor of the United States of America, Jake Sullivan, whom he thanked for the contribution and support for our country, and for lasting peace, long-term stability and regional security.
Speaking on the security aspect, Kurti said that Kosovo is prepared to deepen the partnership based on common values with the US and is committed to its path of EU integration and inclusion as soon as possible in the Partnership Program for Peace, as a first step towards NATO membership.
Prime Minister Kurti reiterated that the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia should be a principled dialogue that respects the equality of the parties in the talks and that at the center of the agreement is mutual recognition.
During the meeting they discussed the invasion and aggression in Ukraine and the destabilizing efforts of Russia in the region.
They discussed Kosovo’s alignment with the United States and the democratic world in condemning the Russian military invasion and aggression in Ukraine and imposing sanctions on the Russian Federation.
Sullivan expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the Government of Kosovo to Afghan refugees and their temporary accommodation in Kosovo.
