GAP: The government has used economic zones as a tool for the benefit of certain groups

GAP Institute today published the report on the new law on Economic Zones, which states that although over 76 businesses are located in these areas and economic zones occupy at least 422.5 hectares of space, there is no detailed analysis of economic benefits, investment growth and employment. According to GAP, the Draft Law aims to regulate the main aspects of economic zones, such as the competence for their establishment, the way of administration, the location of zones, the time limit for use, as well as the forms for the promotion of economic zones.
