The fires in the tourist village of Prevalle, speak for the municipality of Prizren about the current situation

The mayor of Prizren, Shaqir Totaj, today held a meeting with the emergency headquarters created for the current situation with open fires in Prevalle, in which case it was announced that the situation is under control, the tall trees are not burning, therefore, the risk is smaller. Anyway, with his team, Mayor Totaj visited this area today to see the situation up close. 

"Since we are dealing with the National Park, it is implied that institutions at the national level, as well as international ones such as KFOR, have obligations and the headquarters is in full coordination with all the authorized actors who are dealing with this issue, while the situation is is monitored and no escalation is expected", the announcement states.

It is further said that today, intervention and localization of the fire is planned to have it under control and to minimize the eventual consequences.

Mayor Totaj has thanked all members of local and central institutions for the contribution they are making in managing the created situation.

"Any other information, from anyone who comes, can be speculation and as such is a little reliable. We will keep you continuously informed about the developments that may happen in the meantime" the chairman Totaj is quoted in the communique.
