The Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi and the mayor of Gjakova, Ardian Gjini, visited the beginning of the works for the expansion of the road segment "Ura e Tabaku" to "Ura e Ahmet Efendisa", this road will connect the city of Gjakova with Reka e Keqe and with two border points with Albania. While the importance of this project was emphasized, it was said that it will be completed this year.
This road, which will connect Gjakova with Albania, through the border points, "Qafë Prush" and "Qafë Morinë", is of special importance because it exceeds the borders, said the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi.
"This project in question not only has a special importance for Gjakova, but its importance is also crossing the border because it connects Gjakova with Albania. As a minister, I am happy and proud that, as a government, we managed to increase the performance grant during our mandate, but also to institutionalize the law on the reporting of municipalities on municipal performance, and then a grant that comes out of this. I am convinced that as a government we will dedicate ourselves to increase the budget in the coming years", said Krasniqi.
At the start of the works on this road segment, the mayor of Gjakova, Ardian Gjini, said that this project is national.
"We are today at the launch of a very important project for the Municipality of Gjakova, but we can also say a national project. It is the exit of Gjakova for Reke te Keqe and for the border point "Qafë Morinë" that connects Gjakova with Bajram Curri, Tropoja and the northern part of Albania. At the same time, it passes through a residential urban area, it remains an extremely bad exit until now", said Gjini.
