The Basic Court in Ferizaj has approved the request of the Basic Prosecutor's Office of Ferizaj, for the appointment of the measure of detention against the defendants FR and JM, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, due to the suspicion based on the fact that they have committed the criminal offense of aggravated murder in complicity.

According to the court, after holding the hearing and analyzing the documents of the case, the judge of the preliminary procedure of the Department for Serious Crimes, Sahit Krasniqi, has assessed that there is a reasonable suspicion that the defendants on August 16, 2024, at around 19:26, at the entrance of the parking lot of the wedding hall, in a village of the Municipality of Ferizaj, the defendant FR, for low motives with the intention of depriving him of his life, as soon as they noticed the deceased, they entered the parking lot mentioned by the defendants each with vehicles of they stopped at the scene, where the defendant JM held a strong tool (teshlica) in his hand and rushed towards the deceased, while the defendant FR, with the official automatic weapon, shot several times at the deceased SS and in that case they also put other people who were together with the deceased at risk, as a result the deceased died at the scene.

"The pre-trial judge has approved the state prosecutor's request for the appointment of a measure of detention against the defendants as based in accordance with the provisions of the KPPRK, and they have been assigned a measure of detention for a duration of one month. In this case, the parties are informed that the appeal against this ruling did not postpone its execution", the announcement states.

Police officer Festim Ramadani is reported to have killed a person in the yard of a wedding hall in the village of Bibaj in Ferizaj, where the victim is Sadri Sadriu.

The suspect killed the victim with a long official weapon, and then surrendered himself to the police station, and the same was sent to custody for 48 hours.

The police officer had gone to the scene in civilian clothes and outside of working hours, and now the suspect, the police officer, has been suspended from work.

Otherwise, it has been reported that the motive for the murder was the "rape of the two sisters of the doras, Festim Ramadani, by the victim, Sadri Sadriu, when they were minors". The victim Sadri Sadriu is the aunt of the President's husband, Vjosa Osmani, the First Lord, Prindon Sadriu.
