The Mayor of Tirana congratulated Kosovo on the 17th anniversary of Independence, saying that it is a day of pride for the sacrifices of the past and the brighter days that Kosovo has ahead.

He wrote on Facebook from prison that this is a historic day.

"Brotherly hugs and heartfelt congratulations on this historic day," he wrote.

Otherwise, the Special Court in Albania, on February 12, left the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, under the security measure of 'prison arrest'.

Meanwhile, the GJKKO has softened the measure for Ajola Xoxa, the mayor's wife, who cannot leave the country, but must report to the judicial police. Xoxa must go to SPAK on the first and third Friday of every month.

Veliaj and others face a series of charges, including corruption, money laundering, abuse of office, and concealment of assets.
