The owner of the KosovaPress News Agency in Pristina, Skënder Krasniqi, has received a congratulatory message from the Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), Kiril Valchev, on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Kosovo's independence.
The congratulatory message states that the mutually beneficial relations between the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and KosovaPress will continue to develop in the same fruitful manner for the years to come.
“Dear Mr. Krasniqi, Please accept my most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday of Kosovo – Independence Day. I would like to assure you that the mutually beneficial relations between the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and KosovaPress, as well as our great cooperation within the framework of the Association of Balkan News Agencies – Southeast Europe (ABNA-SE) and the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA), will continue to develop in the same fruitful manner for the years to come. Accept, Mr. Krasniqi, my best wishes for personal and family happiness and well-being,” reads Kiril Valchev’s congratulatory message.
Whereas, 17 years ago, at exactly 15:39 PM, in a session of the Kosovo Assembly, the declaration of Kosovo's independence was made.
The historic session was attended by 109 out of 120 members of parliament, who also signed the Declaration of Independence of Kosovo. Serbian members of parliament were not present at this session. The declaration of independence of Kosovo was made by the then Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi.
