Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (38) received a straight red card in the duel with Granit Xhaka's Bayer Leverkusen (0:1) at "Allianz Arena", in the 1/16 of the German Cup, after colliding with the Dutch Jeremie Frimpong preventing him from scoring a goal.
The Disciplinary Commission of the German Football Association announced that Neuer was suspended for two matches in the German Cup competitions.
Bayern had one less player on the field from the 17th minute and Bayer eliminated the Bavarians with Nathan Tell's goal in the 69th minute.
After the team's elimination, Neuer must serve a suspension next season and his contract with Bayern expires on June 30, 2025.
If he signs a new contract or continues his career at another German club, he will miss the first two rounds of the 2025/2026 German Cup if Bayern win the championship at the end of this season. Neuer can escape punishment if he ends his career or leaves for a club outside Germany.
