"America's golden age begins right now," Donald Trump said in his inauguration speech as the 47th US President, adding that the country will "thrive and be respected" under his leadership.

"America's golden age begins now! Starting today, our country will flourish and be respected again around the world. The whole world will envy us, and we will not allow ourselves to be used. Every day of my presidency, I will put Americans first. Our sovereignty will be restored, justice will be rebalanced, the use of the Department of Justice as a political weapon will end. Our priority will be to have a proud, prosperous, and free country. America will soon be greater, stronger, and more extraordinary than before. I return to the White House with optimism and confidence for this era," said Trump, according to RTSH, KosovaPress reports.

He attacked the Biden administration and its handling of the migrant crisis. Trump said the US is facing a crisis of "confidence" in government, promising to end it. Trump also spoke about the hurricane in North Carolina and the fires in Los Angeles.

“Change is coming to our country, and America has the opportunity to seize it, but we must be honest about the challenges we face first. As we gather here today, our government faces a crisis of trust due to years of corruption, and the pillars of our society have been damaged. We had a government that can’t stand up to any challenge, that fails to protect law-abiding citizens while giving priority to dangerous criminals. Fires have devastated communities and homes, we cannot let this happen. No one can do anything to change it. We have a public system that is incapable of handling disasters. All of that will change starting today, and it will change very quickly. My election is a mandate to undo the many betrayals that have occurred and to give back to the people their wealth, their democracy, and their wealth. From this moment on, America’s decline is over. "Our freedoms and the glorious destiny of our country will no longer be denied, we will restore the integrity of the American government. For Americans, January 20, 2025 is the day of liberation," he said.

Trump also detailed some of the executive actions he plans to take, noting that he will sign an executive order declaring a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump said today's executive orders will designate cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

"Today I will sign a series of historic orders. I will declare a national emergency at the southern border of the United States. All illegal entry will stop immediately and we will begin returning millions of criminal immigrants to their countries. I will end the practice of catch-and-release immigrants and I will send troops to the southern border to repel our invasion. In the orders I will sign today, we will designate cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. And by restoring a 1978 law, we will return broad powers to the federal government against foreign criminal gangs that bring destructive crime to our country. As commander in chief, I have no greater responsibility than to protect the country from threats and disruptions, and I will do so at a level never seen before," the American President emphasized.

He then turned his attention to tackling inflation and rising energy costs for Americans, a central focus of his campaign. Trump said he would declare a national energy emergency, and reiterated his promise to increase oil and gas drilling on American soil.

"Then I will direct all departments under my leadership to reduce the extraordinary inflation. The inflation crisis was caused by excessive spending and I will declare a national energy emergency. America will again be a producing country, we have the largest amount of oil and gas of any country and we will put it to use. We will lower prices, we will fill the strategic reserves again, we will export American energy all over the world. We will again be a rich country and as this wealth is under our feet, with my actions we will restore the mandate for electric cars," Trump said.

Donald Trump returned to the US presidency on Monday with an inauguration ceremony in Washington, making him the first president to serve non-consecutive terms since the 1890s.
