Thiago Motta (41) was introduced as the new coach of Juventus a little less than two months ago.
The Brazilian-Italian expert delighted the Juventus board by leading Bologna to the Champions League, so they chose him as Max Allegri's successor. He signed a contract until June 2027 worth 3.5 million euros per season plus bonuses that rise to a maximum of 5 million euros.
Since the arrival of Motta, Juventus has been active in the player market. The biggest compensation was paid for midfielder Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, Juventus spent up to 51 million euros for the Brazilian.
Khephren Thuram arrived from Nice for €20 million, also in midfield, and €13 million was paid to Hellas Verona for 23-year-old Colombian left-back Juan Cabal.
Goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio also arrived, initially on loan for around 4.5 million euros, but with the obligation to buy the contract for 14.5 million euros next summer.
Well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano announces that Motta has fired up to eight players. Federico Chiesa, Wojciech Szczesny, Weston McKennie, Mattia De Sciglio, Arthur Melo, Filip Kostiq, Hans Nicolussi Caviglia and Daniele Rugani were among those told to find new clubs as they will no longer play for Juventus.
So far it is not known if there are any offers for any of the signed players, but Gazzetta dello Sport writes that in Turin they are confident that they will get rid of many of this list without major problems and even plan to make enough money from them to financed new incoming transfers.
