Over 1 million foreign tourists visited Albania during the first three months of the year.
Their high number is evidenced by the streets filled with foreign citizens in the capital and the coast.
"We come from the United States. Tirana is amazing" - says an American tourist.
"We didn't know about Tirana before. We decided to take a trip to the Balkans and said why not. We will also see Shkodra and Thethi", says the Spanish tourist.
"Transport here is simpler than in Spain. Here they get on the bus and pay when they ask for payment".
"We like the people here, the food, the nature... the prices are very cheap compared to Europe and Mexico" - says the Mexican tourist.
Foreign visitors express their impressions of the hospitality and the beautiful panorama they have found in Albania.
"People here are very good with tourists. This was the main impetus that convinced us to come."
"I was in Tirana 15 years ago. I see a completely different city that we are exploring together."
"I really like the atmosphere we found in Tirana, it attracted us as soon as we came."
"We are shocked by Tirana! Very nice place, we like bars, restaurants".
But, during the conversations, tourists from Europe and Latin America show reservations for the service sector that is facing an influx at a time when they themselves are short of staff.
Albania offers low-cost vacations, but off-camera tourists say they would like faster service in the hotels they stay in and the restaurants they frequent. The problem is confirmed by tourist operators, who have 100 vacant jobs. Even before May comes, 80% of the accommodation places are booked and the operators have taken workers from Asia for whom they pay more but get better service. While the biggest influx of tourists has not yet arrived, tour operators are racing against time to find workers./TCh/
