The Kosovo Police today escorted five people to the Police Station in Prizren, as well as confiscated five semi-automatic rifles, which are suspected to be used for hunting.

The spokesperson of the Police for the Prizren region, Vesel Gashi, told KosovaPress that the case happened today around 14:05.

"The police have received information that in the village of Jeshkovë, Prizren, near some mountain houses, there are suspected to be some armed persons, apparently they have gone hunting. The police patrols went in that direction and on the mountain road above the village they encountered and stopped a vehicle with three people. During the inspection of the vehicle, three long guns, a semi-automatic rifle and about 30 cartridges were found", said Gashi.

The suspects were escorted to the Police Station in Prizren where they were interviewed in the presence of defense lawyers.

"The weapons found were without permission from the competent authorities and were seized by order of the prosecutor, while the suspects were released according to regular procedure", added Gashi.

He also announced that based on the same information, the police patrols stopped two vehicles on the mountain road Lubiqevo - Jeshkovo, where two more weapons were found in two vehicles.

After being interviewed in the presence of defense lawyers, the two suspects were released according to regular procedure, while the weapons, which were without a permit, were seized.
