The Police Inspectorate of Kosovo established the joint team for the evaluation of police actions during the assistance of the three mayors of the municipalities in the north of the country to exercise their right to work in the official facilities of the municipalities.
The inspectorate announces through a communique that based on the legal mandate according to the official position and in coordination with the Minister of Internal Affairs, the IPK has created a joint team (inspector/investigator) to evaluate the police actions during yesterday's police operation in the three municipalities northern part of the country (Leposaviq, Zveçan and Zubin Potok).
"The purpose of the work of this team is to ensure that the Kosovo Police has performed its duties in accordance with constitutional and legal standards and authorizations, towards the creation of a safe environment for citizens without distinction. Also, the team aims to identify whether during this operation there was an excess of police authorizations. IPK ensures that depending on the findings of the work of this team, in accordance with the legal authorizations and in coordination with the Kosovo Police and the State Prosecutor, it will address the issues raised. IPK will keep the public informed with the results of the work of this team", the announcement states.
