The cost of construction in Kosovo has increased by 0.9 percent in the third quarter of this year, compared to the previous quarter. Meanwhile, comparing the third quarter of this year with the same period of 2023, the construction cost index increased by 4.5 percent.

"The overall Construction Cost Index in Kosovo increased by 0.9% in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the second quarter of 2024. There was an increase in energy by 20.1 percent, wages by 1.3 percent, materials by 0.7 percent, machinery by 0.4 percent and costs other 0.2 percent. The overall Construction Cost Index in Kosovo increased by 4.5% in the third quarter of 2024, compared to the second quarter of 2023. The biggest increase was in energy 26.6%, wages 17.4%, transport 8.3%, materials 2%, other costs 1.3% and machinery 1.2%", says the report of the Statistics Agency of Kosovo.

Even the overall index of production prices increased by 6.9 percent in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter of 2024. Compared to the quarter of 2023, production prices increased by an average of 9.9 percent.

"Producer prices in Kosovo rose by an average of 6.9 percent between Q3 2024 and Q2 2024. Larger increases according to branches of economic activity are observed in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply 20.1 percent, minerals and other quarries 7.8 percent and furniture production 7.5 percent", concludes the report.
