The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, stated today that Ukraine has achieved a lot in its offensive in Kursk, Russia, but it is difficult to say how the situation will develop further.
At a press conference today in Oslo, he said that "only the Ukrainians can make the difficult choices that are necessary, such as the locations to deploy their forces and the type of war appropriate in this situation."
Stoltenberg said that Ukraine has the right to self-defense, including the achievement of military objectives in Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that Ukraine's incursion into the Kursk region failed to stop the advance of Russian forces in Donbass.
Ukrainian soldiers staged a daring incursion into Kursk and launched the largest foreign attack on Russia since World War II on August 6.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack was an attempt to bring war to Russia to force Putin to make peace and create a buffer zone to prevent Russian attacks in the neighboring Sumy region.
