The Women's Economic Forum has invited all parents, girls, boys, men and women, to join the peaceful protest, which is being held today at 16:30, in front of the Kosovo Government building.
This forum points out that after the decision to remove the Labor Law from the Legislative Calendar, despite the many requests and reactions from interest groups, it is clear that the government's promises have remained empty words.
"The Labor Law is vital for advancing gender equality and improving working conditions in the country. Currently, only 2 out of 10 women are employed, and many of them are forced to work in unsafe conditions, without protection and without basic labor rights. Existing law discriminates against women and men alike—women because of their maternity leave responsibilities, and men because of their lack of rights to care for their children. We request that the government publish the new Bill for discussion and hold consultations with all interested parties. We will no longer accept excuses and delays," the response states.
