The Ministry of Health has announced that an important step is being taken in the reform of the pharmaceutical sector, the start of the implementation of the official drug price list, from February 1, 2025.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes that by doing this, they are guaranteeing order and transparency in the pharmaceutical market, in which the biggest beneficiaries will be the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

"We are aware that the beginning will not be easy, there will be challenges, but we are committed to ensuring that this change brings long-term benefits for everyone, with special emphasis on our citizens. To ensure compliance with the law, as well as the protection of the interests of patients, but also other parties involved, the Pharmaceutical Inspectorate will be fully committed to monitoring and implementing this legislative reform. Starting next week, the deadlines for declaring the prices of medicinal products will begin, including medicinal products that have been registered for the first time. Therefore, we invite all interested parties to cooperate in this process, for a fairer and more sustainable pharmaceutical market for all," the announcement states.

The Ministry of Health adds that it will be maximally committed to making the implementation of this legislative change easier and overcoming any potential challenges that we may encounter during implementation.
