During his report to the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski confirmed that on March 18, Albania will attend the fourth intergovernmental conference in Brussels.

This new round of talks will open the third group of negotiations on competitiveness and inclusive growth. Sikorski mentioned the advantages of the EU's enlargement policy.

"We hope to open a new group-chapter of negotiations with Albania at an intergovernmental conference to be held next month and also to continue negotiations with Montenegro. Enlargement is a process with mutual benefits, both for candidate countries and for EU member states. I give you as an example the increasing trade figures between Germany and Poland since we became a member state. Trade between us increased by 8 times," said Radoslaw Sikorski, reports KosovaPress.

On October 15, the group chapter on fundamental issues was opened with Albania, which includes key reforms in justice, the rule of law, fundamental rights, and the functioning of democratic institutions.

On December 17, discussions opened on the sixth group chapter, that on foreign relations, security policy and defense.
