The European Union's envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, announced on Thursday that he had held separate talks with the chief negotiators of both countries - Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, and Petar Petkovic of Serbia.

"I have spoken separately with the two chief negotiators, Kosovo's Besnik Bislimi and Serbia's Petar Petkovic. I appreciate the good conversations and welcome their invitations to visit Kosovo and Serbia," Sorensen wrote in X.

This is the first time Sorensen has spoken to the parties since taking office earlier this month.

Danish politician Peter Sorensen was chosen by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, to replace Miroslav Lajcak in this post.

Lajcak's mandate ended on January 31.

Leading with Lajcak in this process, Kosovo and Serbia have reached the Brussels Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Annex in 2023, but have not yet found a implementation.
