Today, Albanians celebrate November 29 - the day of liberation of the country from Nazi-fascist invaders.

Albanian politics again celebrates the Liberation Day of the country separately, even though November 29 is the official date of commemoration of this day.

Leftists observe November 28 as Independence Day and November 29 as Liberation Day, while rightists commemorate both holidays on November 28.

On the occasion of marking the 79th anniversary of the liberation, commemorative ceremonies will be held today in a solemn atmosphere throughout the country, in respect and recognition of the work of the martyrs. The highest state authorities, the President of the Republic, representatives of the Socialist Party and its allies and veterans will honor the martyrs who fell for freedom, paying homage near the Martyrs' Cemetery.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania, Lulzim Basha, a day early, on November 28, paid tribute to Boletin and Prekaz in Kosovo.

The debate on the Liberation Day remains still hot in Albanian politics, where the right follows the same pattern as during its first governing term, when it changed the date of the Liberation, from November 29 to November 28, because according to her, the latter was elected by the communist regime by falsifying history.

But November 29 regained the status of Liberation Day when the left came to power, in the summer of 1997, when a special law made it an official holiday.
