Manchester United have announced they have parted company with manager Erik ten Hag, with the Red Devils 14th in the Premier League following the weekend's defeat to West Ham.
Ten Hag was handed a contract extension by the club in the summer after beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final despite finishing eighth in the Premier League. However, four defeats from their first nine league games, as well as no wins in the Europa League, have forced the club into action.
Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024, according to KosovaPress.
Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim coach, supported by the current coaching staff, while a permanent coach is recruited.
