The Speaker of the Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić was the only representative of a European country at the inauguration of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, which was boycotted by a large number of world leaders. Brnabić in Caracas did not leave without mentioning Kosovo.
The former Prime Minister of Serbia arrived in the capital of Venezuela, as the envoy of President Aleksandar Vuçiq, where he found himself in "select" company with the leaders of Cuba and Nicaragua.
On this occasion, she stated that Venezuela is a great friend of Serbia and recalled that the country has not recognized Kosovo's independence.
The list of countries that boycotted President Maduro's inauguration is significantly longer than the list of countries that attended, and includes members of the European Union, the US and several countries that border Venezuela, such as Brazil and Colombia.
Representatives of Argentina and Chile, whose leaders have called Maduro a dictator, were also absent from the inauguration. We recall that many boycotted the inauguration of the president of Venezuela after a number of international organizations assessed that Maduro had won the election unfairly. The real winner is considered the leader of the opposition Edmundo Gonzalez.
