Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today that the headquarters of the Bektashi World Patriarchate will have a status similar to the Vatican.

At the Jubilee Conference of the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the World Bektashi Patriarchate in Albania, he also gave a message to religious communities, which criticized the creation of the Bektashi state.

He said that they have no reason to worry, as they will not be non-existent, while the Bektashis "are on the path to extinction, it is not a prediction, it is happening before our eyes."

"There is no need for the Muslim community to think that it will be non-existent, the Catholic or Orthodox community is not dying out, this community is on the path to extinction, it is not a prediction, it is happening before our eyes, and therefore the history of the Bektashis is in itself an imposing call to give the headquarters, through a status similar to that of the Vatican, the power of an emblem, which will not divide anyone, will not threaten anyone, will not put into question, what does one not hear from Albanians when they think of doing something new. Albania is not a federal state, but a unitary one. Religious communities have no reason to worry, deserved treatment that the world center has in Albania, others would have invented it when they did not have it, we are ready to let it die?! It gives Albania even more light, it will attract more people from all over the world, do not look at the religion of another, look at his heart, says the prophet Muhammad, in these words of magnificent simplicity it stands, we are not here to divide, but to unite", said Rama.

While emphasizing that the Bektashis are not a religious sect, but have influenced national identity, he also mentioned criticisms of the creation of the Bektashi state.

"The Bektashis are not a party, the arduous path of the Albanian Bektashis is unique, the tolerance and unity that is embodied in the words of our national poet, not only among them but also in all humanity, the Bektashis are brothers in spirit. It has influenced the national identity, the teaching of the Albanian language, not exclusively but side by side with the Muslim Community and legendary representatives of the Orthodox or Catholic community. It is not a religious sect, but a guiding light that goes beyond the boundaries of faith, offering a message of love, compassion and foresight, Bektashism also has patriotism, "he said.

Recall that Pope Francis agreed on the Bektashi state during a meeting a week ago in the Vatican with the World Patriarch Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj. Also during the meeting, the document on Abu Dhabi Human Brotherhood was signed.
