The Rector of the University of Pristina, Arben Hajrullahu has stated that UP professors who do not respect their obligations should be worried, while he called on the students who have warned of protest not to become tools of these professors.
Hajrullahu said in a press conference that today it was announced that the students have released the ad-hoc committee and have announced a protest for Tuesday, while he called on the UP students not to fall prey to false information and news. .
He has presented some achievements in less than 6 weeks of his time at the head of the UP, where he mentioned their contribution to the joint statement on science that was approved in the framework of the Berlin process, then the inauguration of the center for archaeology, the agreement with Japan for the opening of the Japanese book corner, the advancement of MCC funds, where more than 7-8 million dollars will be invested in UP, but also other issues.
"Not only protests but also wars when they happen, they end in the end with an agreement. Issues are not resolved on the road. Today I just met students of the University of Prishtina, representatives of the Student Parliament and I guaranteed them that they will be the priority, without students we do not have a university, they are not the target students, they are not the target to hit, well, as it seems, even though a very small number of UP employees who have succeeded for years and decades by misusing and extorting public funds, not fulfilling their duties as professors, and not evaluating students consistently, as it seems are worried. Also, certain circles in this university should be even more worried when they see that illegalities will be assigned to the right channels, so they are sources of spreading fake news trying to misuse the students to protest and street, since students' rights are being denied. We have a new statute and it obliges us to behave in accordance with the existing legal frameworks", he said, adding that UP professors have an obligation to evaluate students continuously, which unfortunately does not happen in all cases.
"I publicly guarantee the students that, without exception, I will take all measures so that the professors first fulfill their contractual obligations. I know that the largest number of professors are honest, hard workers who often achieve extraordinary results", he said.
According to him, it is a minority that has managed to spread fake news that the UP management is against the students. He added that they have an electronic system to track student achievements, but what he found is that this system was not used by the lazy group, which he stressed will not allow this from the situation they have put them in. students in "scissors".
Otherwise, there are about 27 students at the University of Pristina.
