Student blockades and protests in Serbia, which erupted after the tragedy in Novi Sad on November 1, 2024, will continue today with the main rally in the center of Kragujevac for 15 hours.

Students departing from various cities in Serbia arrived last night in the center of Kragujevac, where they were welcomed by a large number of citizens.

According to the plan published by the students of the University of Kragujevac, who have been joining the blockade for several months now, and the organizers of the protest, the rally will be held on Lepenički Boulevard near the Zastava skyscraper, with the motto "See you in Sretenje" - Serbian Statehood Day, starting from 09:00 to 00:07 after midnight, symbolizing 15 hours of blockade for the 15 victims of the tragedy.

The students will honor the victims of the tragedy twice - at 11:52 and 23:52. The rules of the protest, which the students declared on Instagram, are that no one should cause incidents, the use of pyrotechnics and lighting fires is prohibited, and only emergency services will be allowed to circulate.

The students state in the regulations that any violation of the protest rules, any form of inappropriate behavior, people carrying weapons, suspicious persons, and potential provocateurs should be reported to the guards.

During the protest, there will also be a large screen, where participants will leave their traces and experiences from the blockade, the students announced.

The collapse of a railway roof in Novi Sad left 15 people dead and several injured. This prompted Serbian students to start protests, which spread across Serbia as part of a movement demanding accountability and justice.

President Alexander Vuçiq has accused foreign services of being behind the protests with the aim of overthrowing him from power. So far, Prime Minister Miloš Vučević has resigned, which was seen as a strategy Vuçiq to win in time.
