Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha spoke to journalists today after the end of the protest against the closure of the TikTok platform in Albania.

Berisha called this protest an "extraordinary manifestation of young girls and boys against censorship for freedom of speech and thought."

"You heard their words, words that came from their free spirit, that came from their youthful hearts. Today he was branded as a fierce enemy not only of TikTok, but a fierce enemy of freedom, a fierce enemy of Albanian youth. All the young people said it. I have never heard such beautiful speeches, speeches with such deep meaning, speeches with such passion as I heard today in this square. It was their day, it was their speech and I was amazed by the words they delivered," he said.

According to Berisha, "from today's protest, Albanians heard the most noble, fascinating and passionate call," reports ATSH.

"Such words about free speech are worthy of all times. For the past, the present and the future. Everything will be decided by the young people. It was their protest as you saw. I was a participant in this rally that in terms of quality, I guarantee you, is comparable to the rally of December 11, 1990 when the liberating students returned from the presidential palace and came victorious to the Student City Square. And there they delivered the most impressive speeches I have ever heard. So, let's say, in 35 years, these were the most impressive speeches for me, but also for all Albanians. The young people won the battle tonight," Berisha said, according to KosovaPress.
