Chelsea returned to winning ways after recently defeating Brighton in the Carabao Cup, but that victory cost the Londoners an injury to Ben Chilwell.
Chilwell was forced to leave the game, and his muscle injury will keep him out of action for the foreseeable future, Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino has said, KosovaPress reports.
"I think it's bad news, what the doctors told me is not good. It looks like a serious injury so we will see in the coming days about the period he will be out of the squad," Pochettino told the media conference ahead of Chelsea's game against Fulham on Monday.
"We are extremely saddened by the news about Chilwell. The time is hard to say now. The medical staff will tell us and the club will issue a statement," added Pochettino.
Chelsea sit 14th in the table with five points, with Fulham three points clear in 11th.
