The situation with the fires that remain out of control in Shengjin continued to worsen on Tuesday afternoon, spreading near residential areas and endangering the lives of residents.

Interventions from the air and the ground failed to avoid the sudden outbreaks, which reached the beach area of ​​a tourist resort.

The flames engulfed the straw deckchairs, while residents, firefighters and civil emergency workers are helping to put them out. A tent near the beach was also burnt under the same conditions, as a result of burning chips transported through the air from active fireplaces, reports RTSH, reports KosovaPress.

The perimeter of the fires that have been burning for 24 hours has continued to expand, accompanied by panic among the residents.

A new hearth of fire on the side of the mountain, also enriched with forests, spread rapidly in the Shengjin-Velipoja road area.

From this morning around 07:00, the intervention by helicopter from the air started. About 80 fire brigades from Lezha, Mirdita, Kamza, Tirana and Berati Fieri, Lushnja, Vau i Dejës and Shkodra are working to extinguish the flames.
