The Regional Waste Company "Pastrimi" has announced that based on the decision approved by the Municipal Assembly, billing and payment for waste management services must be made directly at the company's official points.

This decision, according to the "Cleaning" RWC, is in force and remains fully applicable.

"We would like to emphasize that the suspension of the amendment to the waste regulation, approved by the Municipal Assembly, cannot be made by a personal decision of the Mayor, Përparim Rama. A recommendation of the Municipal Legal Office does not have executive competence over the decisions of the Municipal Assembly, therefore any action contrary to this regulation is illegal. We appeal to citizens not to fall prey to misinformation and to make their payments only at "Pastrimi" sh.a.. Payment of bills is essential for improving service, guaranteeing workers' salaries and creating a cleaner environment for all," the announcement states.

The "Cleaning" RWC asks citizens not to allow mismanagement and financial interests to undermine the quality of public service.

Days ago, the Municipality of Pristina declared a state of emergency for waste management in the capital. According to the Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, this situation came about because the PDK-Lëvizja Vetëvendosje coalition is attempting to prevent the engagement of private companies in waste management through amendments to the regulation.
